The Other House Has Launched In London

There’s a brand new way of staying in London and it’s called The Other House.

The Other House is not quite a hotel and it’s not quite a private members club, it’s a Residents Club, which is essentially a mashup of the two. Guests (aka 'Residents’) who stay at The Other House get to live like a Londoner, but with the option of using hotel style services if they want to. There are even corridors named after well known, historic local residents so that you get your very own London address when you book.

In addition to the 200+ Club Flats, the Residents Club boasts a wellness offering called the Other Space, offering all sorts of alternative classes such as meditations and sound healing ceremonies, as well as a slightly more conventional gym, studio space, vitality pool, sauna and steam room.

If you are a local Londoner, so don’t actually need to stay at The Other House, then not to worry. Non Residents can still pop into the stylish cafe, called The Other Kitchen, for a panini and a coffee, or to the restaurant/bar, called Owl & Monkey, for an after-work cocktail.

Unless you have applied for (and been granted) an Other House membership, you will not have access to the exclusive private club nestled below ground level, called the Keeping Room, the Hogsmire Bar, or any of the facilities at the Other Space. Instead you will have to suffice with gazing longingly down at the tree-filled, piazza-like area and private pool, from the bar above.

The Party

This Wednesday we were lucky enough to attend the star-studded Other House launch party and it was quite sensational.

Walking through the doors into The Other House felt like entering a fantastical other world. Body painted dancers blended in with the exotic wallpaper, emerging from behind curtains and swaying to the music.

Glamorous guests (all 800 of them!) chatted and sipped cocktails from the various pop up bars, and every area offered different ‘scenes’ to explore. We walked into one room which was wintery and smoke filled, with ice maidens dancing to the hypnotic music. Another had Wimbledon-like tennis courts and one was aglow with church candles where a mysterious fortune teller mesmerised guests.

Perhaps the highlight of the evening for us was the exclusive performance from the cast of West End’s The Lion King. The lead singer belted out Circle Of Life while body painted performers twisted and turned to the music in a spectacular interactive show.

Founder and CEO of The Other House, Naomi Heaton, looking exceptionally chic in black, greeted guests as they arrived. Below you can see her posing with model and DJ, Lady Mary Charteris, (pink jacket) who later took to the decks to entertain guests and Rosie Shepard (pink dress) who was one of the driving forces behind the event’s huge success. We also spotted Lady Victoria Hervey, Hugo Taylor, and Kate Lawler amongst the party-goers.

Following on from the event, social media has exploded with stories, posts and reels. You can check out the hashtag #TheOtherHouse to see more, or you can watch this reel, released by @otherhouse_sk on instagram.
